Victor Pérez se despide

What a blessed journey!
For the last seven years God has given me the opportunity to serve as the International Spiritual Director for The Walk to Emmaus and Chrysalis movements. During this time I have had the opportunity to meet with people from 31 different countries in which we either have a community or we are in the process of launching a community. Beautiful people who exhibit the passion and commitment of transformed Christian leaders who are ready to share with others about what God has done for them. People who represent many colors and cultures; many languages and customs, and different Christian traditions. God has given me the opportunity to see the Body of Christ in action, to experience what heaven will look like.
It has been a blessing to be among Emmaus and Chrysalis people who enjoy praising God. They enjoy singing praises to Christ, our risen Lord. They enjoy lifting others in prayer, because they believe in prayer as they have experienced the power of prayer in their own life.
As I travelled around the world lifting up the banner of Jesus’ love for his people I have been so blessed with the hospitality of my Emmaus brothers and sisters. God has blessed me with numerous friendships. As it happens on our weekends, I have being to places where I was just a stranger sharing a simple message and offering a friendly hand. Through Christian conversation, holy listening, honest sharing and loving dialogue the Holy Spirit blessed my visits and I have left the place feeling a sense of peace and satisfaction as God has showed me once again, that it is not about me but about what God wants to do through these movements.
As this chapter in my ministry comes to an end, I am thankful to God for allowing me to serve in His name. I am thankful to God for allowing me to meet so many faithful Christian servants. I am thankful to God for allowing me to share my advice, ideas, and experiences with so many humble Christian leaders and at the same time for allowing me to learn from them. The Emmaus and Chrysalis movements have given me a deeper understanding of what God’s grace is all about. Serving as your International Spiritual Director for seven years has been a humbling experience. I have seen Christ in all of you. You have helped me to learn what it means to be a Fourth Day leader who embodies Christ.
I am thankful to my wife Sarai, for her patience and understanding. For many lonely days at home while I traveled around the world, for keeping me in her prayers and for all her support during these years. I am also thankful to my fellow colleagues at the Upper Room and The General Board of Discipleship and to our Emmaus/Chrysalis Leadership Team.
Yes, I will start my retirement on July 1, 2011. There is a season for everything in life and the time has come for me to enjoy retirement. I will continue to be involved in serving our Lord through the ministries of the Upper Room but in a different category. But most of all I will take this time to enjoy my family and especially my three grandsons Dale, Aiden and Desmond.
As I move into my retirement years I would like to leave you with a blessing; “May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, give you peace.” (Num: 6:24-26).
Thank you for being my companions in this wonderful, blessed journey.
De Colores! & Fly with Christ!
